Who knows what day #2 will bring....only time will tell.

But a special thanks to Dave, Mike, and Chris for kicking butt and taking names. They jumped right in, and made major improvements to the museum within a couple of hours.

Too bad they live so far away, or I have a feeling they would be a regular Fixture in the museum!

This is the construction scene in the
main hallway.

We began painting this week, got off to a good start.

Also we now have WATER...and no leaks (so far).

We had a proto-type 8ft LEGO guy and a crate that was not being used. So the construction scene was born

Ever think you could make trees in 1in scale. Here they are. Drove me nuts trying to fit them with the buildings, but I did it (about 10 tries later!!!)

They actually look like trees, I was shocked.

I am going to be working on the remainder of the layout (10,000 black tiles for roads) over the next week. I NEED HELP......Mental and Physical!

We completed the following the week before;

Knights layout is back together. We were able to complete most of it.

We cleaned the museum, moved most of the items out of the center of the hallways back into place!

We got a 10ft tall time line of the LEGO(r) company. Nice addition.

LIGHTS on the band are working and sequenced, NO SMALL TASK.

The video system for the band is up and running as well. And we have wireless setup for show on the top level of the viewing area...SWEET

Rick completed a ton of models, and the shelves are filling up big time!

Setup the COLTC church, and assembled the grave yard around it.

Completed the warehouse for the LEGORICK room. It looks aok!

Lock up your Troll.

Straight in from Germany, this troll was being bad. So we locked him up in a LEGO(r) crate.

Amazing what you can do with a damaged crate, a LEGO(r) troll, and some wooden dowles.

Enjoy.

This little bugger was a store display in the UK. This one was shown in the late 70s, and features the larger mini figs from that era.

Only antique post office known.

This is a complete antique post office. Now in the Western room. Needs a bit of touch up, should be in Feb we complete the painting of the base, and add in a real looking fig in the window.

Hi, this is Dan from danstoymuseum.blogspot.com. I wanted to share the experience of building a toy museum with all that have helped me get this far.

I will be adding pics, and soon will be making my mailing lists for the upcoming events/ideas for the museum.

Thanks to all the people who have helped/donated/make the trip here to see my place. I am so proud of the support and interesting lot I have met in the building process. And I am sure I will meet alot more. I have over 50 full sized displays now, and soon I will be adding animation to my lists, as well as some theme rooms.

Keep checking, all items are being used as they arrive. And keep looking for MANY new things as I fill up 36,000 sq feet of school. It should make for one of the best LEGO setups on the planet. As well as a thing to be proud of for myself as well as ALL the great people that have helped make it happen.

Who would have thought, but LEGO (r) has their own crates. The one on the right is becoming a display as well. Soon it will be hanging from the wall with two 18" LEGO (r) guys and a LEGO (r) crane moving it into place.

Boxed and ready. We have enough stuff to build into 2007. We have LEGO (r) 18in mini figs, and a bunch of vintage and current sets. As well as we have a bunch of closeout sets we will be using for parts. Should make for some great displays.

here are some of our panels. The LEGO (r) store in the far most room will have official LEGO (r) rug, and the ceiling will be lined with these little LEGO (r) based signs. We are working on the shelves, and I will have some pics when we get it all installed. Also behind me you see my wood based kid. I am using this now since my own children did not like standing there for hours posing.

Most fun part is deciding where stuff will go. We have here the LEGOLAND (r) own with me and Whinnie the Pooh. I am working on a 100 acre woods display for the Pooh bear, and the owl will go into my woodland creatures room.

This is the gym in the school. Like the pic shows we have a stage which will be filled with a LEGO (r) band. We also let the local softball team practice in the gym. They will be moving into our other school when we open the museum (LEGO and softballs do not mix well)

The computer room in the museum is just about ready to start getting the computers. We have enough room for about 20 machines. Also we have internet hookups and enough power outlets to complete the room.

These mini bumper cars were found at a Flea market in upper OH. We are building LEGO (r) kids to put in them. Great addition to the museum.
